  • Tier I - Copy Editing

    Copy edits address grammar, spelling, typos, and consistency. It does not address major issues that may exist in your work. Should your work need further attention, I will suggest another tier.

  • Tier II - Line Editing

    Line editing looks at a work sentence by sentence. This edit is instructional, intending to help YOU grow as a writer. This is not the same as a final copy edit, and it does not address any weakness in content. Errors will be pointed out, but it will be up to the writer to make changes, which enables the writing to strengthen and preserves the author’s voice.

    Focus: Tier I + word choice, repeated phrases or cliches, catches passive voice, clarity of sentences

  • Tier III - Developmental Editing

    Developmental editing looks at your work in-depth. For example, if the same grammar mistake is made frequently or a certain phrase is repeated regularly, it will be pointed out to you. Developmental editing includes email support as you make revisions.

    Focus: Tier II + strengthening writing, storyline inconsistency, comments within your work, and email support as you revise.
